Discernment Counseling is a short-term process (one to a maximum of five sessions) with the goal of greater clarity and confidence in the decision about a direction for your relationship, based on a deeper understanding of what has happened to the relationship and each partner’s contributions to the problems. It’s different than traditional couples therapy which is aimed at improving your relationship and bringing you closer together- instead the focus is on helping you figure out whether your problems can be solved and whether you both want to try to make things better.
